About El Sazón de la Abuelita

El Sazón de la Abuelita opened in Phillipsburg in 2018 with one goal: bring real Latin American home cooking to New Jersey. Our menu blends Mexican, Guatemalan, and Honduran recipes the way they are made in family kitchens, not in chain restaurants.

What sets us apart is the breadth and the detail. We make our own queso fresco, prepare tamales by hand, and serve regional specialties like baleadas, pupusas, and bandeja paisa. Every plate carries the flavor of home.

I went to eat a breakfast with avocado, egg and rice and the rice came with ants apart , you can tell that it was made days ago and that they only reheated it. The avocado was past and all black. And the hard-boiled egg. I am so disappointed to choose this place to eat first and last time I go to this place. That they sell a plate of food practically for animals for 25 dollars.MY PLATE HAD LIKE 3 HAIRS IN IT.  I bought drinks and the drinks were good. The Service 2/10.The owner should verify and check that all their food is in a good quality and the meats because that food was so disguting.
